The art college students are angry! In an afternoon workshop at the Muthesius Kunsthochschule (Kiel) we criticised experienced discrimination and power abuse, located these structurally, formulated demands for a fairer art school and left collective traces on the walls of the institution with our criticism.
The workshop was part of the lecture series called Picture this in which the Equal Opportunities Commission and the AStA of the Muthesius Art University critically examine the topics of anti-racism, decolonialism and intersectionality in the cultural scene and everyday student life and want to raise awareness for them. The questions “What effect do images have on us?” as well as “And what responsibility do artists and designers therefore bear?” accompanied that process.
